She is Sita. Continue the epic journey with Amish’s latest: A thrilling adventure that chronicles the rise of an orphan, who became the prime minister. And then, a Goddess. This is the second book in the Ram Chandra Series. A sequel that takes you back. Back before the beginning.

Titled “Amazing Ayodhya”, the book by Neena Rai promises to offer “authentic information about the city, which will not only help understand the life and times of ancient Hindus, but also the revered figures of Rama and Sita.   In this book, we first see Sita as a tiny foundling being guarded by a vulture and discovered by the King and Queen of Mithila who rescue her and then bring her up as their daughter.

For 90 percentof the book, it’s basically Mario/Princess/Bowser by way of Tarantino. Bad guy (Ravana) kidnaps princess (Sita), good guy (Rama) goes on bloody rampage for years in order to get her back. Kills Ravana, gets back the princess, yay for everyone. But then there’s that last 10% of the book. New Delhi: With Prime Minister Narendra Modi having laid the foundation stone for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, parties in Bihar, cutting across political lines, now want the Centre to develop Sitamarhi, believed to be the birthplace of Sita, as the Janaki Janmabhoomi. Taking the lead is the ruling JD(U) — an ally of the BJP — which has written to PM Modi, urging him to start work in this regard.
